Radhanagar union was first formed with these 33 villages around 1943 during British rule.
At that time the chairman of the union was called the village president. In 1950,
during the rule of Pakistan, the post of village president was announced as the title
of union chairman.Before the formation of Meghna Upazila in July 1998, there was
02 Radhanagar Union with 33 villages. Manikar Char Union Parishad was formed as a separate
union from the then Administrator No. 02 Radhanagar Union to facilitate administrative work.
Currently 01 Radhanagar Union Parishad is formed by combining 12 small and big villages.
